LATEST MOTHMAN SIGHTING REPORTS::

First off I do NOT subscribe to the Mothman or anything paranormal. I am a Herpatoligist from Cookeville, TN and have spent MANY nights out in the hills alone never to have seen anything unusual! However, while in the field in a location known for copperhead snakes, I seen what looked like bright red eyes "looking" at me from under a bridge. When I shined my light on the eyes- thinking that that may have been standard safty lights under ther bridge- the red circles seemed to grow brighter and a shape that, well Sir, seemed batlike...or something of that order. I noticed the insects and both spring peepers (early spring frongs) had stopped their songs, the the shape just "flew away". I spotted it as far as my spotlight would allow me and it seemed to go in a circular pattern as it went stright up! The whole time the red dots followed it and seemed to get smaller until it winked out. The best that I and my partners could come up with was it was a large bird of prey that somehow got tangled or had tied to it two red lights? I have no idea what that was I saw a few nights back but I never want to see it again! Please notify me if you recive any calls from the Cookeville area of TN, because we take harming our native wildlife harshly! If it is the case of a raptor in distress, then your "tips" might just help us out.
